Last chance...
We understand the hesitance on your part not to register for the CrossFit Games. You are new to the sport. You don't quite understand it. You are intimidated by the workouts. You don't have double unders, hspu or muscle - ups. We hear you, we get it.
What we want you to understand is this is CrossFit. Same thing you guys do day in and day out. Same movements, same intensity. The only difference is... this time you have the ability to compare yourself to folks in your city, state, country and around the world.
Most of you understand by now that you didn't join any regular ol' gym or fitness program. You joined a world that measures "work capacity over broad time and modal domains." Simply put... how much work can you do over time. He/She that does more, faster WINS! But lets forget about "winning" for a second. How about measuring? Measuring your progress as a CrossFit athlete. Most of the 44,000 NY City Marathon runners don't expect to win, they just want to compete. They want to put themselves through a grueling test that most people wouldn't do.
Most of you aren't runners, BUT you sure as hell are CrossFitters. This is your sport. Why practice for the SuperBowl, World Series or Wimbeldon if your not going to play in the game. So I challenge you, stop practicing and start playing!
If you don't have double unders, who cares. My sister and fellow IACF member did one round cuz she doesn't have dubs. But what she did do, was give herself the opportunity to compete for the next 5 weeks. Who knows maybe next week its a run / deadlift wod and for one week she finishes top 20 in her region...thats a big deal! I don't want any of you to have regrets and miss the fun.
Last official chance to register is Sunday 5pm with WOD #1 completed and submitted before that time. Register here and don't forget to click "join team" of your box.
